Westward 2015: Zion National Park (HDR-fest)

After driving up 89a, we got to ZNP without a lot of time to spare before sunset.  We had already decided to cancel our camping plans and had no hotel reservation for the evening.  The forcast was for thunderstorms and potential flash floods.

We decided to take a quick hike on the canyon overlook trail in light rain.  The boys quickly decided this was more fun than the GC due to the fact that they could play on the rocks.

At the end of the trail,we were greeted by the rainbow.

Dinner at Blondies followed....really good hamburger.

We spent the night in  St George which was a non event.  Turns out the rain held off so we could have camped.  The next day we allocated time til noon for Zion.  We parked in the visitor's center and caught the shuttle to hike the emerald pools trail.

We enjoyed it but was a little crowded...and super loud people at the top. We headed back down and out catching some rock climbing on the way.
