Made it!

We managed another safe trip down to NC. I40 is still closed at the TN line so we put our "via" waypoint into the GPS early to display a more accurate time. Mr. GPS suggested we travel the scenic route. I'm always a sucker for the scenic route. (yep that's us in the monster truck)...

Turned out to be not so bad time wise..we had nearly 12 hours from house to house with a zillion stops in between...The detour took us through Cumberland Gap Tunnel which was cool.

Jake was cute (which is hard to say cause at this moment he is tired and obnoxious). We had a tent set up with a blanket separating us from the kids in the back. Jake would send us "special deliveries" scribbled on paper over the blanket... Like Tom and Jerry:

We stopped in Pine Mountain State Park for lunch and threw the ball a little...

This park was in the middle of nowhere but in the woods lo and behold a mega amphitheater...pretty cool....

at the rear of the 'stage', a new meaning to exit stage left...
