Today marked the first Painter participation in the Indianapolis Race for the Cure. Like Heidi said, with our motley crew we did not stand much of a chance of finishing first but we were here to honor Nonny and offer our support to the multitudes dealing with Breast Cancer.
The day started early with a 5:30 alarm to ensure we could meet the Hackney's and get good parking. So we parked in a mostly empty lot and relaxed as the masses descended upon downtown. Jeff Saturday and his wife were MC for a while while the music jammed and we froze in the 40ish degrees. But despite the temps we were pumped to go.
Dusty and I enjoy sitting back and letting the ladies plan this stuff. Unfortunately that means we get stroller duty and sometimes even get accused of having the look of a "Bro-Mantic" moment like in this picture.
The walk was great although the sea of people gave me the heebie jeebies...It put in perspective the number of people affected by breast cancer.
We ended the event at the Mug 'n Bun, a joint Nonny would of really liked. Sweet Potato Fries are really Yummy!

Looks like you all had a great day in spite of the weather and the early hour. ya'll should of had our weather sunny and in the low 70's. mamaw
You and Dusty didn't do the 5k run?
I am so pleased you did the race to honor Donna. I wish I could have been there to join you. Somehow, we have to find a cure for this horrible disease.
