As many of you know, the airlines are struggling. My company operates on contracts with several larger airlines. We are reimbursed for fuel costs shielding us from the oil turmoil to a certain extent. However, there is extreme pressure to perform as efficiently as possible to save the flag carriers money. A short time ago Frontier went into bankruptcy and canceled our company's contract. While the news impacted only 15 of our 200+ aircraft, the economy has forced our company to reduce workforce. This will not affect me in the short term since my seniority makes me virtually furlough-proof...but 10% of out pilots will be "on the street"(i.e. it aint good news). If the company tanks...well seniority means little then...I don't expect that.
Our CEO has done a great job building this company from nothing and should see us through, but no one knows what the future holds. Just a short note to let those curious in on the scoop.

Praying for all the families involved. Praying yours won't be one of them.
