Testing "Shrink Pic"
I found this: Shrink Pic for automatically shrinking file size of uploaded pictures for blogging. For this test upload (with no extra steps) it shrunk this picture's file size from 850k to 26k. The upload time was less than 2 seconds. The picture was taken with a 4MP camera...making this program is even more useful with larger MP cameras (like bad to the bone Canon SLRs). Kim, you can even use Dial Up to blog pictures.
